Allegius FCU helping area children

BURNS HARBOR, IN (January 10, 2020) — Allegius FCU again partnered with the Porter County Toys for Tots program for the holiday season. Between member donations, credit union staff jeans day donations, and the credit union’s monetary donation, the generosity was met with much kindness by raising over $2,500 in a short six-week time frame.

The $2,500 donated was able to bring in more than 230 toys and an additional 75 toys were purchased by the membership, including two new bikes. Allegius FCU’s donated toys helped over 2,000 area children enjoy the spirit of Christmas.

Allegius FCU’s very own Courtney Evans is instrumental each year with her heartfelt efforts to organize the event and spend hours of her own time gathering coupons and purchasing toys. When asked why her passion for the Toys for Tots program is so high, Courtney replied “It is an honor to give back to our community and be a part of an organization whose primary goal is to bring joy to children on Christmas. I am already looking forward to next year.”
