Allegius FCU partners with Toys for Tots

Allegius FCU has once again joined forces with the Porter County Toys for Toys program to help bring the joy of Christmas to area families and children. Funds to purchase toys were raised through member donations, member gifts, credit union staff jeans day donations and Allegius FCU’s monetary donation which resulted in more than $3,700 during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic holiday season. The credit union was able to do its part for this community program by obtaining over 300 toys.

Allegius’ staff member Courtney Evans coordinated the program this year. She commented, “2020 was a very difficult year for families, and for some, job loss and E-learning made it even worse. Knowing these gifts gave families some smiles on Christmas morning is priceless. I am so honored to be able to participate in the Toys for Tots program and to work at a business where our employees and members are passionate about being able to do this for our community families.”

Gary Fossey, Allegius FCU’s Vice President of Member Development also added, “Christmas 2020 marked the eighth year of the credit union’s community involvement with the Toys for Tots program. During these past eight years, Allegius FCU has raised over $18,000 which helped purchase more than 2,600 toys.”
