ALM first webinar offers guidance on mechanics, valuation considerations of loan participations and whole loan trading

DALLAS, TX (August 14, 2014) -- With a spotlight on residential mortgages, commercial real estate, and commercial & industrial loans, ALM First Financial Advisors is hosting a free webinar, “Loan Participations and Whole Loan Trading,” on Wednesday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. CDT.

The educational event will provide an overview of the loan transaction process and examples of potential trading partners. Attendees will also discuss collateral considerations for pricing purposes, as well as pricing techniques and limitations. CPE credit opportunities are available.

According to Kevin Kirksey, Strategic Solutions Group Manager at ALM First, credit unions spend a lot of time conducting their pre-trade analysis on bonds, but too little time evaluating their loan participations and whole loan trades.

“With less transparency than the securitized universe, it is imperative that credit unions understand common transaction mechanics and valuation considerations when conducting loan participations and trades,” he said.

Kirksey will lead the webinar, drawing from his experience in whole loan trades analysis and securitizations. His background also includes performing mortgage valuations for various capital raises, mergers, and IPOs. At ALM First, he oversees merger valuations, ALM model validations and hedging strategy relationships.
