America First Credit Union launches significant upgrades to mobile app

Financial institution first in Utah to offer merchant funded offers and auto loans via mobile

RIVERDALE, UT (June 24, 2014) — America First Credit Union continues to deliver unsurpassed member service and quality with the announcement of two significant updates to its mobile application. Available today, the financial institution continues to enhance its mobile infrastructure with competitive products and services as the first in Utah to offer merchant funded offers and loans via mobile.

With the automotive lending feature, members will have the capability to apply for an auto loan, search for a vehicle using the built-in location tool and scan the vehicle identification number (VIN) to see its retail and trade-in value. Within the loan application section of the America First mobile app, members will have the ability to apply for auto, RV, personal loans, line of credit and Visa credit. In addition, members will be able to search a national database of dealer vehicles through Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL), the leading provider of indirect lending and point-of-sale services for the credit union industry.

The second major upgrade to the America First mobile app is the accessibility of its merchant funded offers program, ABC Deals, which stands for Activate, Buy, Collect, and gives cash back for purchases. The upgrade provides convenience for members, allowing access to participating vendors in the area via location services as well as by zip code.

“We’re thrilled about the capabilities these new features will offer our existing and potential members, enhancing their experience with us,” said Brice Mindrum, mobile services manager for America First Credit Union. “We know that a large percentage of our membership base currently utilize our mobile product and that number is slated to grow exponentially.”

Celebrating 75 years this year, the financial institution has opened four new branches thus far in 2014 and is scheduled to open additional branches before the end of year. With growth of membership is a strong dedication to continued ways to offer convenience and accessibility to members.

“We’re continuously investing to stay at the forefront of emerging technology solutions to expand on and offer new services to our members, beyond our network of branches and ATMs in Utah and Southern Nevada,” said Mindrum. “We recognize the opportunities that mobile offers our members and the importance mobile innovation has in our industry. This is a large area of focus for us.”

The America First mobile app is available for download on iPad, iPhone or Android. Mobile banking features include mobile check deposit, bill pay, multiple account management, branch/ATM locator, fund transfers, paying people via text message or e-mail, detailed account information and more.
