American 1 Credit Union announces 2025 Teacher Grant availability

American 1 Credit Union is proud to pledge $5,000 to their 2025 Teacher Grant Program. Through this initiative, ten teachers will each be selected to receive a $500 grant to fund classroom improvements. Educators are encouraged to apply directly through the  American 1 website. 

The Teacher Grant Program reflects the credit union’s dedication to community outreach,  and its mission of enriching the communities it serves through financial wellness, member-focused solutions, and meaningful partnerships. 

“At American 1, we believe strong communities start with strong classrooms,” said Haley  Hemmig, Community Partnership Manager. “Investing in educators is one of the most impactful ways we can support the future of the areas we serve. These grants reflect our  ongoing commitment to community outreach and our belief in empowering those who  shape the next generation.” 

Since its inception in 2004, the American 1 Educational programs have awarded $266K in grants and scholarships to 277 teachers and students from Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee,  Calhoun, and Washtenaw counties.

Additionally, the American 1 Financial Wellness Department regularly visits local schools and youth organizations to teach crucial financial skills, equipping students for long-term success and further demonstrating American 1’s dedication to education.
