American 1 Credit Union’s boldly generous holiday giving

Jackson, MI (January 16, 2025) |

American 1 Credit Union is proud to celebrate the success of its 2024 Holiday Giving initiative, continuing its tradition of generosity and community support.

This year, the credit union donated $9,000 to 25 organizations across Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Wayne, and Calhoun counties. Each department within American 1 was empowered to select a local organization, ensuring that contributions reflected the unique needs of their communities.
The organizations receiving donations included Jackson Interfaith Shelter, Lenawee Community Foundation, Brooklyn Food Pantry, Chelsea Music Boosters, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and many more.
“As we celebrate the holidays, we are reminded of the importance of community and generosity,” said Martha Fuerstenau, President and CEO of American 1 Credit Union. “Through Boldly Generous giving, we are proud to contribute to the well-being of the organizations that make our counties vibrant and resilient.”
In addition to the departmental donations, the credit union’s Community Partnership team brightened the season for local residents by covering the cost of groceries at area stores. Team members surprised shoppers at locations by donating a total of $2,494.43.
This initiative wraps up a remarkable year of giving for American 1 Credit Union. In 2024 alone, the credit union donated more than $200,000 to local partners, organizations, and nonprofits in the communities it serves, underscoring its commitment to fostering financial wellness and community enrichment.
