American 1 members help donate nearly $4,000 to five statewide charities

JACKSON, MI (June 25, 2014) — American 1 Credit Union members helped to donate nearly $4,000 to five different Michigan charities.

Benefitting from donations are the Michigan Humane Society ($992), University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital ($238), National Breast Cancer Foundation ($1,353), Wounded Warrior Project ($920), and the Autism Society of Michigan ($334).

American 1 Credit Union members can choose to “upgrade” their debit or credit card design
for a small $6 fee. Members can upgrade their card image at any time, and the new card is printed in minutes, because of the credit union’s Instant Issue capabilities. The 5 charities listed are among the upgraded design options, and as such, half of the fee is donated directly to the charity. The donated funds are distributed on an annual basis.

In an effort to boost donations, American 1 will be adding 3 new charity card designs this summer. The new designs will benefit the American Red Cross, the Michigan Audubon Society, and various local charities in areas the credit union serves.

American 1 Credit Union serves over 50,000 members through 13 branches in 7 counties. Based in Jackson, American 1 is proud to be Michigan, hosting more than 10 free, family- friendly events every year in the areas we serve. We strive to give back and to be a truly, local financial option for our communities. Visit our website at www.american1cu.org for more information.
