American 1 pleased to host upcoming Shred Day event in Jackson Community

JACKSON, MI (October 4, 2022) — American 1 Credit Union is hosting a Shred Day event from 4 to 6 pm on Wednesday, October 12, at the Jackson YMCA (127 W Wesley St. in Jackson).

“By popular demand, this will be our third Community Shred Day event in the past six months in our Jackson community. We are thrilled that the community sees value in protecting their personal information,” said Kelly Grygiel, American 1’s VP of Marketing and Community Partnership. “We strive to promote financial wellness in everything we do at American 1, and our Shred Days are a prime example of this initiative. Allowing members and non-members to destroy documents safely and securely protects them from potential scammers stealing their personal information.”

Angela Hadley, Risk Manager for American 1, added that she is extremely pleased to see community members taking advantage of these opportunities.

“Scammers will stop at nothing to steal information, and our Shred Day events allow the community to be proactive in keeping their private information out of the wrong hands,” Hadley said. “In addition to our Shred Day events, we recommend community members check out information on the latest scams and tips for how to stay protected by visiting thefraudfighters.org.”

American 1 uses reputable shred companies to bring a shredding truck on-site to Shred Day and can shred your documents before you leave the site. The shred companies properly dispose of and recycle all material in a secure process, so no personal information is vulnerable.
