American Heritage Credit Union hosts Tenth Annual Red Cross Blood Drive

American Heritage Credit Union (American Heritage) hosted their Tenth Annual Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, April 19, 2019 on their main campus located at 2068 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, PA.

American Heritage employees volunteered their time and donated blood to support the American Red Cross. On the day of the event, thirty-one donors gave blood, and three gave a “Power Red” donation. A Power Red donation is a concentrated dose of red cells, the part of one’s blood used every day for those needing transfusions as part of their care. Red blood cells are the most commonly transfused blood component, and therefore the most needed. Since they carry oxygen throughout the body, they are essential to hospital patients.

With the help of American Heritage employees, twenty-nine units of blood were donated, which equates to 107% of the goal for the day. This donation will help eighty-seven different hospital partners.

“We’re proud of our employees for helping our community and this important cause,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, American Heritage’s President & CEO. “With our employees’ donations, we can save patients’ lives. We want to thank the American Red Cross for allowing us the opportunity to host this event and we are honored to continue this important annual tradition.”
