American Heritage Credit Union is now accepting applications for 2023 Cecilia B. Grady Scholarship Program
PHILADELPHIA, PA (February 1, 2023) — American Heritage Credit Union (American Heritage) is awarding 30 high school senior members with a $1,000 scholarship to ease the financial burden of higher education expenses. American Heritage Credit Union’s Scholarship Committee will select the 2023 scholarship recipients based on their scholarly merits, community and school involvement, a letter of recommendation, credit union eligibility, and a submitted essay describing a time applicants faced a challenge or setback and how they were able to learn from the experience.
Eligibility requirements for graduating high school seniors include:
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on transcript
- Have been formally accepted into an accredited two- or four-year college, university, trade, technical or business school
- Be a member in good standing of American Heritage since April 1, 2022
- Cannot be an employee or family member of an American Heritage employee.
The Scholarship Program honors American Heritage’s Chairperson Emerita, Cecilia B. Grady, who served on American Heritage’s Board of Directors for over 40 years. American Heritage’s annual scholarship program represents her dedication to financial literacy, education, and community outreach.
“We continue to see the cost of a higher education increase year after year, and in most circumstances, additional aid or scholarships are necessities to assist with the cost,” states Bruce K. Foulke, American Heritage’s President & CEO. “Our future community leaders are coming out of school with more debt and financial burdens than any generation before them. This is one of the reasons we offer our Scholarship Program for our younger members, to ease the cost of their educational expenses in however they see fit.
