America’s Christian CU donates new account proceeds to help homeless veterans
GLENDORA, CA (June 4, 2015) — Leading up to the second annual Patriot Week, hosted last month by America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) and Project Glendora Yellow Ribbon (PGYR), ACCU made a commitment to donate $10 to The Vet Hunters Project for every new account opened during Patriot Week! This week, ACCU was excited and honored to present a check of $1,200 to the Vet Hunters.
Patriot Week is an annual event dedicated to honoring local heroes, veterans, and men and women of the United States military who put their lives at risk for our freedom. Several community groups and residents joined ACCU throughout the week to help express their continued support and gratitude.
ACCU originally committed to donate $10 for every new account opened during Patriot Week. During the Closing Ceremony on Thursday, May 21, Mendell L. Thompson, President and CEO of America’s Christian Credit Union announced that the credit union would extend the new account donation program through the end of May!
Kevin George and Joe Leal from the Vet Hunters Project were present throughout the week in support of our Nation’s Heroes. The Vet Hunters dedicate their work to preventing and ending homelessness for all military veterans. America’s Christian Credit Union was honored to present a check for $1,200 to further their patriotic cause.
Mr. Thompson proclaimed, “I’m honored to partner with a great organization such as Vet Hunters. The hard working hours these men and women dedicate to helping the countless homeless veterans are inspiring and appreciated. This is a small token of our appreciation and support to helping our military heroes. We are grateful for the freedom we enjoy, and are blessed to partner with Vet Hunters!”
