AMOCO announces contest winners of Mardi Gras contest
TEXAS CITY, TX (February 13, 2023) — AMOCO Federal Credit Union is excited to announce Lee and Diana Balinas as the winners of its “Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler” 2-Night Staycation Giveaway.
The Balinas’s, of Houston (Clear Lake), won the giveaway featuring a two-night stay at the Grand Galvez on the historic Seawall Boulevard on Galveston Island during Mardi Gras 2023.
The couple, whose picture got the most “likes” on Facebook after posing in The Vault at AMOCO’s newest branch at 1150 Clear Lake City Blvd., Suite 101, in Houston, have been members at AMOCO for 10 years.
“When I finally got word that we won, I was beyond excited,” Lee Balinas said. “We’re going to use this giveaway as an early wedding anniversary vacation. We’ve been married for 39 years, and this is the best gift that we could’ve ever gotten.”
After opening their AMOCO account in Santa Fe in 2013, it’s been nothing but exceptional service, Lee Balinas said. Originally from Louisiana, this will be the couple’s first experience celebrating Mardi Gras in Galveston, too.
“We were so happy when the Clear Lake City Branch opened, and we’ve been very pleased with the outstanding service,” Lee Balinas said. “Everyone at AMOCO is always so helpful. They treat you like family. It’s the employees who make the difference at AMOCO and we couldn’t have chosen a better credit union.”
The Clear Lake City Branch, which officially opened November 18, 2022, in celebration of AMOCO’s 85th anniversary, is the 11th branch and the third location opened in Harris County.
The Mardi Gras contest, which was implemented to encourage members and potential new members to visit the new branch, has been an exciting experience and has afforded the new branch to meet new and old members, and community members as well, Branch Manager John Herman, said.
“The Balinas’s are longstanding loyal members with AMOCO, who’ve frequented our location since we opened,” Herman said. “We’ve enjoyed meeting all the eager participants in the contest and we’ve been equally impressed with the Mardi Gras attire our members have worn for their photo op.
