AMOCO honors Gina Spagnola with Servant’s Heart Award at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Galveston, TX (June 17, 2026) |

AMOCO Federal Credit Union hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Friday, June 12, at the Moody Gardens Hotel, where AMOCO’s Board of Directors presented its prestigious Servant’s Heart Award to a dedicated and honorable community leader, Gina Spagnola.

The event recognizes the invaluable contributions of AMOCO’s volunteer leadership, including its Board of Directors and committee volunteers. Their dedication and service play a critical role in helping AMOCO leadership meet the evolving needs of its members. These individuals collectively contribute countless hours each year, strengthening both the organization and the communities it serves.

A special part of the evening was dedicated to awarding the AMOCO Servant’s Heart Award-an honor bestowed upon individuals whose lives are defined by service, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others.

This year’s recipient, Gina Spagnola, President & CEO of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, was recognized for her visionary leadership, collaborative spirit, and tireless advocacy for economic and community development throughout the region. Under her leadership, initiatives have flourished that support local businesses, foster community engagement, and create opportunities for sustainable growth across the Galveston region.

In recognition of her impact, AMOCO presented a $10,000 donation in Spagnola’s name to Lemonade Day Galveston, supporting youth entrepreneurship programs that equip young participants with valuable life and business skills. A contribution will also be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Spagnola’s name, further reflecting AMOCO’s commitment to supporting meaningful causes that improve lives and strengthen communities.

“This evening celebrates the volunteers who give so much to AMOCO’s mission,” said Shawn M. Bailey, CEO of AMOCO FCU. “Honoring Gina Spagnola alongside them is especially meaningful, as she truly embodies the spirit of servant leadership.”

Spagnola joins a distinguished group of past Servant’s Heart Award recipients, including Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch and State Representative Dr. Greg Bonnen and Kim Bonnen.
