Application process opens February 1 for First Tech Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program

Annual program helps students offset higher education costs with $50,000 in scholarships

First Tech Federal Credit Union, the nation’s premier credit union serving technology companies, has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to members towards their educational goals for more than a decade. This year is no different. The First Tech Scholarship Program will award ten, $5,000 scholarships, including five to students with science, technology, engineering and mathematics-focused majors and five to students with a variety of majors. The application process opens Saturday, February 1, 2020 and closes on March 31, 2020. Recipients will be notified in July 2020.

“We are dedicated to helping our members achieve their academic dreams, and support our next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators,” said Greg Mitchell, president and CEO at First Tech. “We are eager to spread the word so as many students as possible have the opportunity to participate.”

To be eligible, applicants must be First Tech members with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and plan to enroll or already be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution for the Fall 2020 quarter/semester. For applicants that are not yet First Tech members, there are hundreds of ways a person can be within the field of membership and the process is easy. Students attending undergraduate, graduate, doctorate programs, and vocational schools are all eligible to apply for this scholarship.
