Ardent Credit Union awards 12 local high school students scholarships to pursue higher education

As part of the credit union’s annual scholarship program, each deserving student received $1,000 for their commitment to academic & civic excellence

PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 29, 2021) — For the 11th consecutive year, Ardent Credit Union awarded $1,000 scholarships to 12 local high school seniors pursuing higher education. Ardent’s scholarship program is a reflection of its longstanding commitment to strengthening its communities through the support of educational opportunities inside and outside of the classroom.

The students chosen to receive a scholarship demonstrated academic excellence, participated in volunteer organizations and/or held part-time jobs. All applications were reviewed and scored by the Ardent Scholarship Award Committee.

“All of our scholarship winners have shown incredible commitment to their communities and their education,” said Rob Werner, President & CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “We’re honored to support them as they continue on their journey, and we know they will go on to achieve great success.”

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

  • Rebecca Stern (Great Valley High School) – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
  • Jalil Cooper (Maynard Holbrook Jackson Jr. High School) – Stanford University
  • Jane Bowen (Manheim Township High School) – Fordham University
  • Nicholas Ferrante (Archbishop Wood High School) – Temple University
  • Bernadette Mooney (John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School) – Temple University
  • Courtland Hines (Kingsway Regional High School) – Rowan University
  • Kieran Dias-Lalcaca (The Haverford School) – University of Chicago
  • Rohan Mehta (Souderton Area High School) – Georgia Tech
  • Amanda Wang (Methacton High School) – Stony Brook University
  • Lyndsay MacQueen (Perkiomen Valley High School) – Liberty University
  • Alyssa Hardin (The Agnes Irwin School) – Marshall University
  • Jaida Robinson-Clark (Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School) – Howard University
