Aries Fraud Solutions wins Fintech Connect Competition with 75% of Attendee Vote

NASHVILLE, TN (July 23, 2026) |

Aries Fraud Solutions won the 2026 Tennessee/Mississippi Fintech Connect Pitch Competition, earning 75% of the attendee vote following a presentation by co-founders Lon Varns and Collin Corrington.

The audience-selected award followed a presentation introducing Aries’ patented Obscurity Card technology and challenging a fundamental flaw in traditional payment cards: one card number is designed to work across every payment environment.

“The fact that credit union professionals selected Aries makes this recognition especially meaningful,” said Lon Varns, Founder and President of Aries Fraud Solutions. “Their vote shows that the industry is ready to rethink how we approach card fraud and move beyond simply detecting it after it happens.”

The Obscurity Card uses two purpose-built card numbers. One works only for card-present transactions, while the other works only for card-not-present transactions. By restricting each number to its intended environment, compromised card credentials become significantly less useful to fraudsters.

Aries thanked the Tennessee Credit Union League, Mississippi Credit Union Association, conference organizers, sponsors, attendees, and participating fintech companies for making the event a success.

“Credit unions immediately understood both the problem and the simplicity of the solution,” said Collin Corrington, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer of Aries Fraud Solutions. “The vote confirmed that the industry is ready for a more preventative approach to card fraud.”

Aries will next appear at the Defense Credit Union Council Annual Conference, where the company will serve as a major sponsor and present an educational session on card fraud, dark web intelligence, and strategies for reducing credit union fraud exposure.
