Arlington Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU) announced today the launch of its campaign “Loans That Give.” The program highlights ACFCU’s commitment to the community they serve by donating to Arlington charities.
From November 1 to December 31, 2018, ACFCU will donate $25 to one of five local charities for every new loan or credit card valued at $2,500 or more. The charities below were selected through a competitive application process.
- Arlington Thrive (www.ArlingtonThrive.org/) delivers same-day emergency funds to our neighbors in crisis, so they can be secure in their jobs, health, and homes and thrive in a caring community.
- Aspire! Afterschool Learning (www.AspireAfterSchool.org/) serves young people grades three to five to strengthen their literacy and STEM skills in preparation for middle school, creating seamless connections with schools and providing volunteers for student support during the school day.
- Culpepper Garden (www.CulpepperGarden.org/) provides affordable housing for Arlington’s lowest income people over 62, combining independent and assisted living so that residents can age in place with dignity and receive services to improve wellness as their needs increase.
- Dream Project (www.DreamProject-VA.org/) empowers students whose immigration status creates barriers to a college education by granting them the opportunity to access and succeed in college through scholarships, a mentoring program, and family engagement.
- Offender Aid and Restoration (www.OARonline.org/) works with men and women returning to the community from incarceration and offers alternative sentencing options through community service to youth and adults.
“Loans That Give” is one of ACFCU’s many programs that demonstrates their commitment to supporting community non-profits through financial education, volunteer efforts, and sponsorships. The selected charities will receive the donations in January 2019.
“We are thrilled to kick off our second annual ‘Loans That Give’ campaign,” stated Karen L. Rosales, ACFCU’s President & CEO. “This program reflects a wonderful partnership between our community members, local non-profit organizations, and ACFCU, showcasing our community’s passion for doing good.”
