Arrowhead Credit Union adds legal expert Bruce Pearson as Chief Legal Counsel

SAN BERNANDINO, CA (May 3, 2023) — Arrowhead Credit Union names Bruce Pearson, well-known credit union legal expert, EVP/Chief Legal Counsel. Pearson joins Arrowhead after serving the legal needs of credit unions across the country for more than 30 years.

In the newly created role, Pearson will report to Arrowhead CEO Darin Woinarowicz.

“We are thrilled to add Bruce to our Leadership team. Bruce’s legal counsel to the organization while at the law firm Styskal, Wiese and Melchione was proactive and business-oriented, which is pretty unique among law firms,” said Woinarowicz.

Pearson joined Styskal, Wiese and Melchione (SWM) as an associate in 1992. In 1997 he was named a firm partner at the industry-known firm. Most recently he served as SWM’s Senior Counsel where he led the firm’s Corporate Governance, Insurance, and Class Action Litigation, as well he advised the Commercial Lending practice group. Additionally, Pearson frequently shares his legal expertise at credit union events.

“My career began in a credit union loan department while attending law school. In many ways, this is like coming home for me. Arrowhead has a terrific future ahead, and I look forward to joining the team,” comments Pearson.

With license to practice law in multiple states (California, Arizona, New York, Oregon, Utah, and Washington), and degrees at the University of Illinois and Southwestern University School of Law, Pearson talked about his time serving the credit union industry, “During my time at SWM I’ve been fortunate to have fantastic mentors and to serve the legal needs of clients across the industry. I take this next step in my career with great excitement about the opportunity to provide legal and strategic advice to one of the best organizations in the movement.”
