Associated Credit Union Foundation Donates over $37,000 to Local Charities
NORCROSS, Ga. – The Associated Credit Union Foundation donated a combined $37,374 to the Norcross Co-op Ministry, Quinn House and Susan G. Komen For The Cure of Greater Atlanta.
The Norcross Co-op Ministry helps to provide food, clothing, prescription medicine and financial assistance for those who may be in crisis. The Co-op also hosts programs like, English for Speakers of Other Languages, job searches, case management and referrals to other service providers in the county.
Shirley Cabe, Director of the Norcross Co-op, accepted its $15,000 gift. “Thank you so much to everyone at Associated Credit Union for your generous donation. Over the last few months, we have struggled financially, which means we have not been able to help those families in our community who are in crisis. Your donation will enable us to help over 100 families who are struggling to meet the basic needs of their families. Thank you so much to everyone at ACU. We are so grateful for your dedication to help families in this community.” she said.
Director of The Quinn House, Gene Brinkley accepted its $12,000 donation. “Due to the unfortunate state of the economy and rising costs, we have struggled to fully fund many of our outreach programs. It’s with this generous financial contribution and the many volunteer hours from ACU that we are able to close those gaps. It’s a pleasure to partner with such a great company that shares a heart and vision for helping the community in which it serves,” he said.
The Quinn House provides housing for the homeless and also offers a 40-day drug and alcohol rehabilitation program to any individual that needs help getting back on their feet and re-entering society. It’s also a licensed food bank that assists families and senior citizens who are in need.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate is the local resource for women who need breast cancer screening, treatment, education and support. Through annual events, including the Race for the Cure, and individual contributions, Komen Atlanta raises funds that enable women to detect and survive breast cancer.
“We are delighted to receive this donation from Associated Credit Union,” said Eryn Marchiolo, Komen Atlanta Mission Director. “We value our partnership with this organization and greatly appreciate their dedication during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
