ATMIA And ATEFI announce cooperative agreement for Latin American ATM market

SIOUX FALLS, SD, USA and BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA (May  2, 2015) — The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) and the Latin American Association of Electronic Funds Transfer and Information Service Operators (ATEFI) have announced the formation of a cooperative relationship for the Latin American ATM and payments market.

ATEFI members operate a majority of the ATM debit networks in the Latin America region and have close relationships with the bank and independent ATM operators.  This Agreement is intended to create a framework that will facilitate cooperation and synergy between the Associations, which will lead to a strengthening of the industry and greater value for each organization’s members.

In addition, ATMIA will offer special group pricing on its ATMIA Academy online educational/training services for ATM operations staff.  Other areas of cooperation may include exchanges of industry information, efforts to promote fraud prevention, and an exchange of speakers for industry events.

“We are very pleased to have formed this new relationship with ATEFI,” says David Tente, Executive Director for ATMIA Latin America.  “Their existing relationships and presence in the region will be of significant help in growing and strengthening the industry.”
