Bay Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that its nomination of Salinas Valley Health Medical Center for the inaugural Velera Miracle Momentum Awards has resulted in a $10,000 donation to the hospital. This award recognizes Salinas Valley Health’s essential role in providing pediatric care and support services to children and families in our community, ensuring access to care for all.
This donation was made possible by Velera, a premier payments credit union service organization (CUSO), in collaboration with Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals).
The Velera Miracle Momentum Awards, which received nearly 500 submissions from across the country, celebrates hospitals dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare to children. Out of 68 nominees nationwide, only 20 hospitals were selected, and Bay Federal is honored that Salinas Valley Health is among the recipients.
“We are proud to support Salinas Valley Health and their ongoing commitment to children and families in our community,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO of Bay Federal Credit Union. “This award reinforces the strength of the credit union community in coming together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. We look forward to continuing our support for this award in the coming years.”
Nationally, the credit union network has raised over $200 million for CMN Hospitals, ensuring children receive care regardless of financial barriers. Bay Federal Credit Union is honored to play a part in this effort, demonstrating its commitment to supporting local communities and improving the lives of those who need it.
