Bethpage Federal Credit Union appoints officials at Annual Meeting

BETHPAGE, NY (May 1, 2015) — Bethpage Federal Credit Union Chairman of the Board Don Balducci is pleased to announce officers elected by its members at the financial institution’s annual meeting held last week.

Lawrence Waldman, a partner at EisnerAmper, has been appointed Chairman of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee, after holding a member position on the committee since April, 2013.  As Chairman, Waldman will be charged with helping Bethpage meet the required National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) objectives and activities and head up recommending and monitoring policies and procedures to safeguard the credit union’s assets.  Lawrence will be replacing Vincent Scicchitano as Chairman.

Vincent Scicchitano, formerly with Emblem Health, has been named a member of the Bethpage Board of Directors, after holding a position as Chair of the Bethpage Supervisory Committee since April, 2013.  “Vincent’s contributions have helped set forth Bethpage’s mission, direction and growth, and we are pleased to welcome him to the Bethpage Board,” said Don Balducci, Chairman, Board of Directors, Bethpage.  Vincent will be replacing John Kornst.

John Kornst, who for 42 years, served on the Bethpage Board, has been named a Senior Associate Director of the Bethpage Board of Directors.  John is a retired Director of Special Projects Development at Grumman Corporation.

“Since 1973, John Komst served as a volunteer of Bethpage Federal Credit Union.  We are thrilled John will continue to represent our member owners, as Senior Associate Director.  Bethpage has grown a great deal since John began his service on the Bethpage Board in 1973 and John has been a big part of Bethpage’s success,” continued Balducci.

John held several roles within the Bethpage Board as Treasurer and Vice Chair, and as Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 1999. He served as the Chair of the Marketing committee during Bethpage’s recent rebranding efforts, the naming of Bethpage Ballpark and signing on as the Title Sponsor of the Bethpage Airshow – Bethpage’s signature community event.

“What makes Bethpage special is the collaborative environment created by the Board Volunteers and the Executive team that transcends through the entire organization to ensure we continue to enrich the lives of our members, employees and community,” asserted Balducci.  “Unlike banks, our Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers, dedicated to the credit union mission to serve its members.  I am proud to continue in this tradition and to uphold the Bethpage commitment to family and community.”
