BHFCU makes $2,000 donation to the Autism Society of the Black Hills

Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) recently donated $2,000 to the Autism Society of the Black Hills (ASBH.)

As a part of its Community Action Team (CAT) program, BHFCU encourages employees to support organizations near to their hearts. Having received support from the ASBH, Connie Price, BHFCU Contact Center Manager, works hard to give back to the organization.

“From family camps to educational conferences and everything in between, my family has personally benefited from ASBH resources and programs,” said Price.

The ASBH provides access to support groups, meetings, and resources (many peer-led) to help families and individuals experiencing autism thrive. Price shared how her family’s journey came full circle.

“Over 16 years ago, we came to the ASBH to learn from other parent’s experiences, and after several years, we were the family others came to rely on for support,” explained Price. “Being given the fundraising platform by the credit union and experiencing the support of fellow employees is something I am forever grateful for.”

BHFCU achieves its mission of improving lives by offering ways for employees to support their community. Run internally by staff members, BHFCU developed the CAT program in 1996 to provide staff the opportunity to fundraise for and provide resources to causes important to them.

BHFCU supports community needs through corporate contributions, employee fundraisers, and donations to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
