Big win for christian business owners as tax bill advances to senate

Includes 10 major victories, Christian Employers Alliance chief says

WASHINGTON, DC (June 12, 2025) |

The Christian Employers Alliance (CEA) celebrates the House’s advancement of a pro-growth tax bill that strengthens Main Street and champions Christian-owned companies across America. The bill, now on its way to the Senate, contains several long-awaited victories that directly benefit small businesses.

Among the top 10 victories are permanent tax cuts for both individuals and corporations, the ability for individuals to deduct charitable contributions to religious organizations, tax credits and deductions for domestic production, and federal income tax exemptions for tips and overtime pay.

CEA President Margaret Iuculano says the support from this bill will simplify the tax process, providing broad relief for millions of American families and small businesses.

“This legislation provides long-overdue relief and new opportunities for the job creators, community leaders, and faith-driven entrepreneurs we serve,” stated Iuculano. “Not only will it promote job creation, but it will also encourage research and innovation, spurring long-term growth across the U.S. economy.”

Additional provisions include an increased pass-through deduction, raising the small business deduction from 20% to 23% for pass-through entities; larger estate tax exemptions for more family-run farms and Christian organizations; restored 100% bonus depreciation, giving companies the ability to grow and reinvest immediately; and enhanced expensing of domestic research and development costs, fueling innovation.

These reforms are the result of relentless advocacy by CEA, which has fought to ensure Christian business owners are not left behind in today’s economic environment. As the bill heads to the Senate, Iuculano urges lawmakers to protect these provisions.

“Stripping these provisions out would be a betrayal of America’s job creators and Christian business leaders who work diligently every day to serve their employees, their communities, and their mission,” Iuculano said. “But passing this bill would spark growth and advancement for businesses across the country.”

The president’s Council of Economic Advisers projects this bill could grow the U.S. economy by up to 5.2%, create or preserve 7.4 million full-time jobs, increase individual wages by $11,600, and boost investment by up to 14.5%.

CEA is proud to have been a strong and consistent advocate for these reforms on behalf of Christian business leaders across the country and is working closely with policymakers to ensure these vital provisions remain intact as the bill moves through the Senate.
