Black Hills FCU supports program providing families with food during holidays

RAPID CITY, SD (November 4, 2020) — Black Hills FCU is proud to partner with the Tea Pizza Ranch for another year, making a $500 donation to the 12 Days of Pizza. The contribution will help feed area families in need over the school holiday break this year.

“As a member of the BHFCU team, I’m so proud of our ongoing commitment to help keep local kids well-fed during the holiday break each year,” said April Meyerink, business development officer.

The 12 Days of Pizza was born in 2015 to bridge the gap in a dependable food source for kids over the two-week holiday break. Unfortunately, many schools do not have a program in place for this short break. The 12 Days of Pizza seeks to bring coverage to those families who benefit from free and reduced school meals. Selected families receive Pizza Ranch coupons for one free pizza or one free 8-piece chicken meal each day for 12 days.

“Our pledge to improve lives extends to everyone in our community, but especially the children who call the Sioux Falls area home,” said Nicole Fodness, 41st Street Member Service Center manager. “There are few things more important than helping to keep food on the table and little stomachs full.”

Black Hills FCU is an ongoing sponsor of the 12 Days of Pizza in partnership with Pizza Ranch. Donations are made through the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
