Black Hills Federal Credit Union breaks ground on new Box Elder location

RAPID CITY, SD (September 1, 2022) — Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) officially broke ground on its newest location in Box Elder, South Dakota, on Thursday.

Located at 376 Liberty Blvd., the new Member Service Center will provide the city of Box Elder and other outlying communities east of Rapid City with convenient access closer to home.

“We have long held a goal to better serve our existing and future members in the growing community of Box Elder,” said Jerry Schmidt, president and CEO. “We are excited to move closer to meeting that goal as we break ground today.”

The full-service branch will be BHFCU’s 18 th location in South Dakota. Construction will get underway immediately, with completion of the location scheduled for 2023.

“It’s an exciting time to be in Box Elder as the Ellsworth Airforce Base welcomes the B-21, and the Rapid City metro continues to expand east,” explained Schmidt.
