PLANO, TX (February 27, 2019) — Jennifer Williams has been named as California Coast Credit Union’s vice president of risk management, effective March 18. Credit Union Resources conducted the search for the $2.4 billion credit union.
Previously the chief legal counsel at Aventa Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Williams was responsible for managing legal, risk, and compliance functions. Under her leadership, Williams integrated governance, risk, and compliance to achieve enterprise risk management and further the strategic goals of the credit union.
Prior to working at Aventa, Williams served as the director at UBS International in New York, New York. Williams managed a team of paralegals, group internal audit, and external examination while supporting key client relationships by strategizing with financial advisers and branch management teams.
With more than 15 years of law and risk management experience and with eight of those years within the credit union movement, Williams will drive California Coast in its mission to provide excellent products and services to its members. Williams is recognized in the industry for her strategic vision in risk management and for leading successful teams.
Williams earned a Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice, history, and political science from Indiana University.
Williams is active in the community. She serves as a board member for Cinderella’s Attic and a volunteer attorney for the International Community Foundation.
