Callahan’s credit union strategy & performance recognized by ASBPE for Insightful Writing and Content

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 10, 2015) — Callahan’s Credit Union Strategy & Performance – a quarterly publication focused on industry analysis and best practices – is once again being recognized for editorial excellence by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) as part of the latter organization’s well-respected Azbee Awards competition.

Led by Callahan’s managing editor of print, Aaron Pugh, Strategy & Performance has received one national finalist nomination and four Mid-Atlantic Region finalist nominations from ASBPE for content produced in 2014.

Writer Erik Payne’s article, “8 eService Developments For 2015 And Beyond” is a national and Mid-Atlantic finalist in the Original Research category. The article, which appeared in the 2Q 2014 issue of Strategy & Performance, reveals results and analysis from Callahan’s 2014 Technology Priorities Survey conveyed in an easily digestible infographic format.

“Anatomy Of Navy Army Community Credit Union,” penned by the editor-in-chief for Callahan media, Rebecca Wessler, is a Mid-Atlantic finalist in the Special Section category. This series, which appeared as the cover feature in the 2Q 2014 issue, profiles how the south Texas credit union serves its diverse and ever-growing marketplace.

Writer Marc Rapport and analyst Sam Taft both contributed to the Technology@CU section “Big Ideas In Core Processing,” which is a Mid-Atlantic finalist in the Special Section category. Featured in the 3Q 2014 edition, this content showcases trends and opportunities in credit union core processing.

Lastly, Strategy & Performance is also a Mid-Atlantic finalist in the Overall Headline Writing category thanks to the quality, creativity, and relevance of its material.

“The fact that Strategy & Performance continues to be nominated for, and many times wins, such prestigious awards is a testament to the high level of editorial content our team produces, both in print and online on our website CreditUnions.com,” Pugh said. “Regardless of whether we win or not, our writers, editors, and analysts are true leaders in this space and they demonstrate that in the work they produce each and every day.”

All Azbee Award entries are judged by a combination of business editors, designers, consultants, and academics. Finalists are selected based on quality of writing, reporting and editing; development of the subject; presentation; and the end value to readers. The winning finalists are awarded with a gold, silver, or bronze award in their respective categories.

Winners for the Mid-Atlantic Region will be announced at the ASBPE’s regional banquet in Washington, D.C. on June 24. National winners will be revealed at the ASBPE national ceremony in New York City on July 24.
