Canvas’ Todd Marksberry named MWCUA Chairman

Todd Marksberry, President & Chief Executive Officer at Canvas Credit Union, joins Mountain West Credit Union Association Board as Chairman.

DENVER, CO (April 27, 2020) — Todd Marksberry, President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Canvas Credit Union was elected to the Mountain West Credit Union Association (MWCUA) Board of Directors and will serve as Chairman of the Board. Todd was announced, along with three new officers, after the Association’s Annual Business Meeting held on April 23, 2020.

“Todd is the right person at the right time. He is a natural and transformative leader. This is the time for leagues and associations to be innovative and forward-thinking,” said Scott Earl, President & CEO of the Mountain West Credit Union Association. “I am excited for how his leadership and that of the rest of the board will shape the future of our organization.”

In his role as Chairman, Todd sets his vision on strengthening advocacy and collaborative efforts, “This is an important moment for us to come together as credit unions and live the collaboration that we frequently talk about,” he says, “Advocacy efforts will pave the way for credit unions to create even more impact for people, who need us now more than ever. I’m excited to serve the Mountain West Credit Union Association and our credit unions because I know just how much of a difference we can make both today and well into the future.”

Canvas Credit Union’s advocacy efforts are evidence of Todd’s fierce dedication to the industry’s movement. Most recently, Todd personally called for action from both Congress and the Small Business Administration. The need both for funding and an improved process impacted not just Canvas and their business members, but business members across the country. When credit unions can create positive impact, Todd will act to ensure no obstacle stands in the way.

Todd’s passion for credit unions shines through at Canvas, where he has been the President & CEO since June of 2015. Since then, Canvas assets have grown more than 84% to $2.8 billion and serves over 256,000 family members, an increase of more than 49% since 2015. Along with leading Canvas, Todd also sits on the boards for the Canvas Foundation, CU Direct, & CO-OP Financial Services.
