Card Services for Credit Unions and Visa Begin Offering V.me by Visa
TAMPA, FL and FOSTER CITY, CA – November 13, 2012 — Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU) and Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) today announced an agreement to promote V.me to all of its member credit unions, representing more than 11.5 million accounts – more than one million of which are included in the November roll out. Credit union cardholders will be able to sign up for V.me to make simple and secure online purchases, without the bother of repeatedly entering account number, bill-to and ship-to information.

Cardholders at CSCU’s member credit unions will be able to enroll their existing credit union Visa cards and other payment card accounts into V.me, allowing them to make purchases online by simply entering a user name and password at checkout. As V.me acceptance gains momentum at a growing number of eCommerce merchants, Visa will work closely with CSCU to more broadly deliver the digital wallet service to consumers.

V.me presents an opportunity for issuing credit unions to strengthen account holder relationships by offering a new service that addresses the growing trend towards shopping online. Through credit union branding and Visa-backing, account holders can shop with comfort and checkout with ease knowing they’re protected by layers of security within Visa’s industry-leading network. Once logged into V.me, all that’s required to make a purchase is a simple click of a mouse, touch on a mobile browser, or in the future, a wave at the physical point-of-sale.
