Centra Credit Union’s vice president of facilities named president of the Bank & Credit Unions Facilities Council

Centra Credit Union VP of Facilities Sharon Taylor  has been named president of the Banking Institutions & Credit Unions Facilities Council  (BICUC), a community within the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). Sharon will serve a two-year term leading the council, which supports facility professionals in the financial services industry. 

The BICUC is part of IFMA, the world’s largest association for facility management professionals, and serves those who oversee facilities within banking institutions and credit unions. As president, Taylor will lead efforts to grow the council’s membership, enhance member value and deliver meaningful learning opportunities to industry peers. A key  initiative of hers includes expanding the councils new “Munch & Masters” series, a monthly virtual session focused on timely, relevant topics in facilities management for financial institutions. 

“I’m honored to step into the role of president of the Banking and Credit Union Council within  IFMA,” Taylor said. “This is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with industry peers, share best practices and help shape the future of facilities management in the financial services sector. I’m passionate about supporting professional development and innovation in this area. I look forward to leading with purpose and learning alongside such a talented group of professionals.” 

Taylor brings extensive global experience in facilities management to this role, having  worked for major corporations including Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and ANZ Bank. She was the first woman to earn a postgraduate qualification in facility management from an Australian university in 1995. She also holds an MBA, a Master’s in corporate real estate  and is a certified Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) through IFMA. 

Since joining Centra Credit Union eight years ago, Taylor has led numerous key initiatives, including the construction of Centra’s corporate headquarters in Columbus, IN and the expansion of their branch locations in Salem, Corydon, Charlestown, Lebanon and  Zionsville. She has also overseen major facility remodels and the installation of more than  60 Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), while managing daily maintenance and 

operations of Centra’s facilities.
