Centra Credit Union recently donated a total of $9,000 through the Centra Foundation’s Pay It Forward campaign to support local nonprofits and initiatives in the Communities it serves. Pay It Forward empowers Centra’s Team Members to lead mini-service projects in groups that support local nonprofits.
Centra and its Team Members love having the opportunity to get involved within the Communities they serve. As a financial institution rooted in the credit union philosophy of People Helping People, Centra actively seeks new ways to give their Team Members more opportunities to give back in unique and meaningful ways.
The following nonprofit organizations were supported as part of Pay It Forward: - Beloved

- Catalyst Rescue Mission
- Forever Changed Outreach Washington County
- Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana
- Jefferson County Youth Shelter
- Just Friends Adult Day Services
- Love Chapel
- My Sister’s House (Whitakers, NC)
- Sellersburg Food & Clothing Pantry
- Su Casa
- Veteran Army of Decatur County
No matter which project teams choose, Centra Foundation’s Pay It Forward campaign gives Centra and its Team Members another opportunity to live out their vision of creating value for each other, their Members and the Communities they serve. In the second quarter of 2026, 115 Team Members volunteered their time, and a total of $9,000 went back into the Communities Centra serves.
"This Centra Foundation program is another testament to Centra’s dedication to creating value for the Communities we serve,” Centra Director of Community Involvement Jenni Carr said. “I love seeing our Team Members getting creative and finding new ways to give back and support these nonprofits that provide valuable services to those in need. It’s truly amazing.”
Pay It Forward aligns with the Foundation’s impact areas of focus: financial empowerment, scholarships and career development, social responsibility and emergent community needs. The Foundation is allocating a total of $28,000 across 56 teams in 2026 to “pay it forward” in the Communities Centra serves.
