Central Credit Union of Florida donates to local charities during “Christmas in July”
PENSACOLA, FL (July 27, 2021) — On Monday, July 19th, 2021, Central Credit Union of Florida made a final donation in a series of contributions made to local charities in the Pensacola and Panama City areas as part of their “Christmas in July” program. Each of the five credit union branch locations selected a charity or charities that would receive a donation from the proceeds of the candy bar sales the credit union displays in their lobbies throughout the year. The total contribution going to these recipients amounted to $1,500.
Amongst the charities chosen this year were First United Methodist Church of Pensacola’s “Suit Yourself” program, which offers professional work attire for women entering the workforce, Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter, Teen Challenge, Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida, Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center in Panama City, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County, and Everett Animal Welfare Group.
“Central’s ‘Christmas in July’ event is an annual program that we look forward to every year. Each branch is passionate about supporting several different causes in the community and we are so thankful to be able to do that,” states Todd Cunningham of Central Credit Union of Florida.
This year marks the fourth annual donation event bringing Central Credit Union of Florida’s total contribution from the program to $7,500 provided to over 50 organizations in the local communities of Pensacola and Panama City, Florida. Central Credit Union of Florida will continue to sell candy bars in each branch lobby to generate proceeds for future philanthropic efforts.
