Centra Credit Union’s Seymour location has been named the 2023 Business Hall of Fame’s Medium Business of the Year by the Jackson County Chamber. The award was announced during the Jackson County Chamber’s annual awards ceremony on Friday, March 4, 2023.
The Business Hall of Fame award is presented to a business that has enhanced the economic health of the local economy through successful and profitable operation. In addition, the awarded business exhibits innovative leadership in areas such as workforce development, client relations and customer service. The business is also a model in its community service efforts.
“An empowered team makes a team of rockstars, and I’m so lucky to be surrounded by people who constantly rise to the challenge and live Centra's vision daily,” Branch Development Manager Sehrish Sangamkar said.
Centra Credit Union’s vision is creating value for its Members, Team Members and the Communities it serves. Centra creates value for its Communities is through efforts such as volunteerism, monetary donations and financial education. Each year, Centra gives its Team Members the chance to get involved in their communities through events and programs such as the annual United Way Day of Caring, Team Member Nominated Donations, and our Holiday Giving Program. Each program gives back directly to the Communities Centra Team Members live and work in. For example, over the last 10 years, Centra’s Holiday Giving Program has raised more than $340,000 for local children in need.
Centra’s Seymour team loves giving back and volunteers in a number of local events and programs. Each year, they volunteer for the Jackson County United Way Day of Caring, as well as Stuff the Bus for school supplies for children in need. They also volunteer for the local Anchor House to help provide food and shelter services for locals in need. The team doesn’t stop there. In addition to volunteer efforts and donations, they provide financial education at high schools to help prepare local youth.
