Centric Federal Credit Union announces retirement of CEO Chris Craighead

WEST MONROE, LA (September 30, 2022) — Centric Federal Credit Union announces the retirement of CEO Chris Craighead, following 30 years of service.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Chris began his career at Centric, formerly Forest Kraft, in March 1992 as the President/Chief Executive Officer. Chris is a Certified Financial Planner and a graduate of Northwestern State University. Chris is a 2022 inductee of the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame and has served on the LCUL Board of Directors since 2018. Under Chris’s leadership, Centric has grown from roughly $25 million in assets to over $320 million in 2022.

Chris has served the Northeast Louisiana community through various organizations and leadership positions including past Chairman of the Board of the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, West Ouachita Parish Reservoir Commissioner, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Northeast Louisiana Board Member, BAFS Board Member, and many others.

Even though Chris has had many achievements and much success, he is quick to give credit to those around him,” states Joe Phillips Centric FCU Board Chairman. “Chris has a passion for the Credit Union movement and wants to make a difference by helping those around him Live Better by providing hope.”

“Chris has passionately helped members Live Better in all aspects of their financial wellness,” shared Centric’s President, Rodney Parker. “He has made a difference in our community and in countless lives and proudly finished well at Centric.”

His legacy at Centric will live on through the establishment of the annual Chris Craighead Leadership Award. This award will recognize a Centric employee annually who exemplifies service to others, leadership, and a commitment to the betterment of our members.

Following his retirement, Chris looks forward to spending time with his family, golfing, traveling, serving in the community, and mowing.
