Cetera Financial Institutions’ SmartWorks® wins BISA Technology Innovation Award

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 1, 2014)  – Cetera Financial Institutions announced that its recently introduced SmartWorks Adviser® for Institutions, a best-in-class wealth management technology platform designed by Cetera and customized for financial institution-based advisers, has been awarded the Bank Insurance and Securities Association’s (BISA) Technology Innovation Award during the 2014 BISA Annual Convention.

“SmartWorks Adviser for Institutions brings leading-edge, institutional-caliber account management technology to bank and credit union-based financial advisers and their clients for the first time, expanding the foundation for fee-based business in this channel,” said Catherine Bonneau, president and CEO of Cetera Financial Institutions. “We’re excited to be recognized by BISA for our work increasing efficiency and scalability. It adds to the momentum Cetera has created in enabling financial institution-based advisers to bring holistic financial planning, investment strategy and account management to retail clients.”

The platform allows fee-based advisers in the bank and credit union channel to manage specific client accounts, classes of accounts or entire books of business with efficiency and flexibility. It enables advisors to trade simultaneously across multiple accounts and investment models, instead of trading in each account individually, resulting in time and cost-savings. Additionally, it provides the flexibility to give advisers true choice regarding the implementation of investment decisions on the individual account level.

Capabilities of SmartWorks Adviser for Institutions include:

  • Improved portfolio modeling and rebalancing – including large-scale blast-trading functionality – across multiple client accounts, empowering the advisers to leverage open architecture investment programs in combination with turnkey investment strategies for their clients.
  • The ability to build, implement and manage models that incorporate a broad array of advisory programs and investment vehicles, including models by leading strategic, tactical, alternative and passive asset allocation strategists, Cetera’s own wealth management models, and individual mutual funds, ETFs and equities.
  • The ability to create customizable alerts and dashboards, including ongoing monitoring for client accounts whose asset allocations drift beyond model tolerances at the security, asset class or asset type level; and consolidated views of top client account information
  • Sophisticated review, tracking, analysis and performance reporting

SmartWorks Adviser is just one more way Cetera Financial Institutions is supporting its mission to maintain its position as the best wealth management platform in the industry.  Cetera is committed to providing the technology and products advisors need to meet the increasingly complex needs of their clients and fuel the growth of their wealth management business.
