Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Richard Cordray spoke to nearly 5,000 attendees at the Credit Union National Association’s Governmental Affairs Conference (CUNA GAC) today. Following his speech, CUNA president/CEO Jim Nussle issued a statement:
“The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and our credit union members appreciate CFPB Director Cordray’s praise for the credit union industry today at the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference. We thank the Director for his statement that credit unions were not the culprits in the recent financial crisis and appreciate his ongoing respect for our member-owned, community-based, not-for-profit structure.”
