This weekend, Chartway and its charitable arm, the Chartway Promise Foundation, surprised two children facing medical hardship – 8-year-old Tiara and 2- year-old Kaydee – with their Wish come true.
On Friday, July 29, 2022, on-stage at Country Fan Fest presented by Chartway, Chartway’s president & CEO, Brian Schools, Christine Wilson, Chartway Promise Foundation’s president, board members, and leaders hosted an on-stage Wish Proclamation for Tiara, an 8-year-old bravely facing cystic fibrosis. There, she learned that her Wish to swim with dolphins in Hawaii will come true thanks to a charitable grant from the Chartway Promise Foundation to Make-A-Wish Utah.
Jared Perry, president & CEO of Make-A-Wish Utah shared, “it’s so important to have partners who support our mission and care about kids like Tiara. We’ve partnered with the Chartway Promise Foundation for a long time, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their continued support as one of our largest contributors.”
On Saturday, July 30, 2022, leaders and team members from Chartway, the Chartway Promise Foundation, and Roc Solid Foundation built a backyard playset for 2-year-old hero, Kaydee, who is fighting leukemia. Thanks to funding from the Chartway Promise Foundation, they surprised Kaydee with a new backyard playset that not only provides a safe, germ-free place to play, but also gives this special girl and her family an escape from the reality of fighting cancer and a way to create happy memories together.
“At Chartway, we’re dedicated to unlocking the potential of individuals and families so they can thrive – and a commitment to our communities is a vital part of that mission,” said Brian Schools, Chartway’s president & CEO. “That’s why we’ve promised to bring joy, hope and smiles to these children and their families.
“The Chartway Promise Foundation strengthens communities by partnering with companion charities, sponsors, and contributors to provide the financial support needed to make dreams and wishes come to life for children facing medical challenges,” said Christine Wilson, Chartway Promise Foundation president. “We’re grateful to do just that for Tiara and Kaydee and honored to be part of these special surprises.”
Since 1999, the Chartway Promise Foundation has raised nearly $14 million to provide the financial support needed to make dreams and wishes come to life for children facing medical challenges. In addition to the Chartway Promise Foundation, Chartway supports its communities through its Directors’ Memorial Scholarship that has awarded nearly $380,000 to student members pursuing collegiate studies. It also awards $25,000 annually through its Old Dominion University Athletic Scholarship fund, leads a contemporary paid summer internship program, and offers seasonal giving, crisis support, and free financial wellness programs.
