ChatterYak! Next Gen Group names Champion
OSHKOSH, WI (January 14, 2015) – The Next Gen Outreach group at Citizens First Credit Union reached a milestone last week, announcing its first ever “Next Gen Champion.” Next Gen Outreach is a franchise offered by Chatteryak! LLC, a marketing and advertising cooperative for credit unions. CitizensFirst introduced the program in 2013 to attract younger members to the credit union, educate young adults on financial issues and create opportunities for community service. Since the onset of the program, CitizensFirst has seen a great increase the number of accounts opened by individuals 34 years old or younger.
The CitizensFirst Next Gen group held an online competition open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 25 living within its field of membership. Chad Durkee was selected among contestants for his commitment to learning about finance and leading others in community service. He is currently a student of business and accounting at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.
Durkee will receive a Macbook Air and iPhone 6 to connect with young adults over social media, sharing his journey through college and discussing personal finance issues in a relatable way. Now an honorary member of the Marketing team at CitizensFirst Credit Union, he will also take part in outreach events throughout the year.
Next Gen Outreach is one of many Chatteryak! products available to credit unions. To facilitate the program, Chatteryak! provides custom curricula, website services, and an advisory board—all designed to create effective financial education for our youth. Geared toward community engagement, the program promotes the spirit of cooperatives while attracting younger members to credit unions.
