Christian Community Credit Union recently promoted John Silvis to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In his new role, Silvis will be involved in implementing technologies and developing strategies to enhance products and services in support of the Credit Union’s goals and objectives. Silvis will also join the Senior Management Team in developing organization-wide policies, programs, and other initiatives to better serve members and staff.
Silvis started his career at the Credit Union in 1995 as a Part-Time Marketing Clerk and later as an Operations Clerk. Three years later, he became part of the Information Technology team—serving in various roles as Coordinator, Systems Technician, and later as Network Specialist. Through the years, he’s moved up the ranks to IT Manager, Assistant Vice President, Vice President, and recently as Senior VP/CTO.
“John began his career with the Credit Union as an eager teenager looking to make some extra money,” said Marji Hughes Senior VP/Chief Operating Officer who mentored Silvis. “Twenty four years later, he’s become a mature career man who adds enormous value to our organization. It’s been a privilege to play a role in John’s growth. I am so proud of all that he’s accomplished!”
Silvis feels humbled and incredibly excited in his new role as CTO. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to have a greater impact at executing our vision and living out our mission at the Credit Union,” said Silvis. “It’s challenging work, but it’s encouraging to know you work with a team and Board committed to Kingdom impact.”
Silvis expressed deep gratitude to Hughes for his career in IT. “I’ve been fortunate to work in an environment that embraces a culture of mentorship and career development,” said Silvis. “Marji Hughes poured herself into my development for almost 20 years. I look forward to paying this forward in faith, believing that the greatest asset we offer to our membership is our people.”
