Clark County Credit Union facilitates $100,000 grant to assist Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 22, 2024) |

Clark County Credit Union (CCCU), in collaboration with the Federal  Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco), will deliver a $100,000 AHEAD Program grant to  Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation.

This is the fifth time CCCU and the nonprofits it supports have been awarded an AHEAD Grant since 2020. The  credit union applied for the grant on behalf of Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation and after a competitive  selection process of over 300 applicants, Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation was awarded the AHEAD Program  grant to fund their work to provide children with visual impairments. Specifically, the AHEAD grant will fund the  organization’s “Life Skills and Career Readiness” Project that will teach essential life skills including preparing for  employment and college education.

“We are honored to partner with FHLBank San Francisco to bring this vital grant to the Nevada Blind Children’s  Foundation,” said Matt Kershaw, CEO of Clark County Credit Union. “At CCCU, we are committed to making a  lasting impact in our community, and equipping children with the skills they need to lead independent and  fulfilling lives is a cause we are proud to support.”

AHEAD grants enable FHLBank San Francisco members like CCCU to give a critical boost to local economic  development programs and projects that directly address the needs of low- to moderate-income communities.

“These grants will help boost economic opportunity and create access to vital services and support that can be  life-changing for people living in underserved communities,” said Eric Cicourel, community investment officer for  FHLBank San Francisco. “We’re proud that for 20 years and counting, the AHEAD Program continues to make a  positive impact throughout the communities we serve.”

For those interested in applying for the AHEAD Program in 2025, please contact CCCU or visit the FHLBank San  Francisco website to learn more.
