CoastHills Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Turnley as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Turnley will oversee member experience, information technology, branch operations, digital experience, and marketing, helping advance the credit union’s commitment to serving members and communities across the Central Coast.
Turnley’s appointment comes as current Chief Operating Officer Pam Rasmussen prepares to retire after more than seven years of dedicated service to CoastHills and the Central Coast communities it serves.
Turnley brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience spanning credit unions, fintech, and Fortune 500 organizations. Known for his strategic and people-focused leadership style, he has led operational transformation, growth initiatives, and member-focused innovation throughout his career. Most recently, Turnley served as Executive Vice President at University Federal Credit Union, a $4.2 billion credit union based in Austin, Texas, where he helped expand access to financial services and strengthen member engagement across the organization.
In addition to his credit union leadership experience, Turnley has held executive leadership roles across technology, financial services, and fintech organizations, bringing deep expertise in operational strategy, digital innovation, and growth.

Throughout his career, Turnley has remained committed to advancing financial inclusion, economic opportunity, and community development. He has served on several nonprofit and advisory boards focused on homelessness prevention, disaster relief, and expanding access to financial services and capital for underserved communities.
As Chief Operating Officer, Turnley will help lead CoastHills’ continued focus on delivering modern, accessible banking experiences while maintaining the personalized service and local connection members value.
Turnley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications and English, with a minor in Business Administration, from the University of Washington and has completed executive leadership programs through several nationally recognized business schools.
