Community Resource awards college scholarship to local high school student

LATHAM (May 8, 2014) — Community Resource Federal Credit Union awarded the $1,000 MoneyRules College Scholarship to Ariana Chaves, a high school senior who will major in Art History at Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont in the fall.

Ariana currently attends Hawthorne Valley High School, which she credits for cultivating her interest in art because the teachers “incorporated art into almost every lesson.”  She also held a summer job at the OMI International Arts Center in Ghent, New York where she researched the exhibiting artists in The Fields Sculpture Park.

Community Resource Federal Credit Union’s MoneyRules College Scholarship is awarded to one high school senior each year who is a member of the Credit Union and who demonstrates financial need.
