Community Resource’s employees raise $4,600 for Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless

LATHAM, NY (December 31, 2013) — Community Resource Federal Credit Union’s employees presented Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH) with a check for $3,850 on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Credit Union’s 20 Wade Road, Latham office.  The employees previously distributed $750 to IPH by supporting its Taste of Albany event and Summer Youth Program. The employees raised the funds through events such as a bake sale, Haunted Asylum, donor card sale, and a calendar raffle.

“Community Resource Federal Credit Union has been a strong community partner, working year-round to raise funds that directly support the Sheridan Hollow Drop-In Center,” said Eric Guzman, Marketing Coordinator for Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless. “The employees have also volunteered their time working with the kids in the Summer Youth Program and serving the holiday meal,” he added.

IPH’s Sheridan Hollow Drop-In Center has reached capacity.  To keep up with the community need, IPH plans to purchase a new building in the same neighborhood in 2014.  At the same time, the shelter will expand its programs, which encourage self-sufficiency, empowerment, and stability amongst homeless and low-income families.

Community Resource Federal Credit Union is a community credit union serving those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Albany County and their families.  Community Resource provides friendly service, outstanding rates, and low fees on a full range of financial products.  Community Resource has $70 million in assets and 6,500 members.
