Community Resource’s Haunted Asylum for Charity raises money for local non-profits

LATHAM, NY (October 21, 2014) —  Community Resource Federal Credit Union’s Charity Committee held a calendar raffle during September and a Haunted Asylum on Saturday, October 18 and raised $2,331 for Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and Grassroot Givers.

245 people attended the fourth annual Haunted Asylum, which required 33 employees and their family members and friends to create and operate. “The employees really look forward to this fundraising event because it’s a fun and creative way to raise money for charity,” said Wendy Meola, Director of Marketing at Community Resource Federal Credit Union.

The employee-run Charity Committee is also holding a bake and craft sale on Tuesday, November 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Pet Photos With Santa on Saturday, December 6 from noon to 3:00 p.m. Both events will be held at the Credit Union’s 20 Wade Road, Latham office.
