Cornerstone Credit Union League welcomes eight new members in 2015
FARMERS BRANCH, TX (May 4, 2015) — Nearly two years ago, the Cornerstone Credit Union League was formed as a result of the consolidation of state associations in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas to provide greater service to the credit unions served by the league while enhancing the relevance of the association and its members in regional and national conversations. As a result of the perceived value of membership and industry-leading products and services delivered to credit unions, Cornerstone is welcoming eight new credit union members in 2015.
“We are encouraged by this trend to affiliation and support of our credit union system at this critically important time both regionally with Cornerstone and nationally with CUNA,” says Cornerstone President & CEO Dick Ensweiler. “We’re experiencing extraordinary support from credit unions in the Cornerstone region, reflected by new affiliations and a net promoter score of 75 that is matched by few in financial services.”
JSC Federal Credit Union, a $1.8 billion credit union based in Houston, was one of the first to join Cornerstone in 2015. “We are glad to be back and to continue our ongoing support of the league,” says Michael Brown, JSC FCU president and CEO.
Along with JSC FCU, Firstmark Credit Union, a $905 million credit union based in San Antonio and Government Employees FCU, a $132 million credit union based in Austin joined Cornerstone in 2015.
“What we believe is particularly relevant as Cornerstone staff work tirelessly every day to advance the ongoing success of credit unions is that the new members we are welcoming to Cornerstone range from a $1.8 billion credit union to a $1.9 million credit union,” says Ensweiler. “This tells us that Cornerstone is a significant and essential partner for credit unions of all sizes, working to deliver value to credit unions both big and small.”
Five credit unions that would be considered small with assets of less than $50 million also joined Cornerstone in 2015.
“City Federal Credit Union recognizes the valuable work the league performs, representing the interests of small credit unions like ours,” says CEO Frank Frazzitta, City FCU, a $30 million credit union based in Amarillo, Texas. “We also appreciate the resources in compliance, training, and business management services that are available to us as well as access to league staff and their combined deep knowledge over many areas in which we need support.”
In addition to City FCU, Cornerstone welcomed Teachers FCU, a $6.8 million credit union in Oklahoma City; U.P. Employees FCU, a $4.3 million credit union in North Little Rock, Ark.; My Choice FCU, a $1.9 million credit union in Tulsa, Okla.; and BPS FCU, a $4.2 million credit union in Beeville, Texas.
