The Credit Union Association of New Mexico (CUANM) welcomes new faces to its Board of Directors and ushers in a new chapter of leadership while maintaining the strength of long-standing service.
CUANM is proud to welcome two new members to its Board:
- Matt Rarden, CEO of Kirtland Credit Union
- Phillip Fifield, CEO of White Sands Federal Credit Union
In addition, Matt Schmidt, CEO of Los Alamos Schools Federal Credit Union, has been appointed Chair of the Board. He succeeds Judy Carrasco, CEO of Financial Security Credit Union, who will serve as Vice-Chair.
“It’s an honor to step into the role of Board Chair during such a pivotal time for credit unions in New Mexico,” said Matt Schmidt. “I look forward to working with this talented and dedicated group of leaders to support and strengthen our movement.”
“We are grateful to Judy for her thoughtful leadership as Chair and are thrilled she will continue to serve as Vice-Chair,” said CUANM President and CEO Melia Heimbuck. “With the additions of Matt Rarden and Phillip Fifield, and with Matt Schmidt stepping into this new role, our board is well-positioned to continue championing the mission and impact of credit unions across New Mexico.”
CUANM’s Board of Directors plays a vital role in guiding the association’s strategic priorities and championing advocacy that ensures New Mexico credit unions have the tools and resources needed to serve their members and communities.
