Credit union celebrates youth

GLENDALE, AZ (April 6, 2015) — In April, credit unions nationwide will observe National Credit Union Youth MonthTM. The month-long celebration gives credit unions the opportunity to show their support for youth financial education and literacy. Credit Union West will be joining the fun by holding a Facebook promotion that will feature a “caption this” photo contest. The winner will win a gift card for themselves and a gift card for the special youth in their life.

“We recognize that early financial education is vital to a lifetime of smart money choices,” said Credit Union West’s Marketing Manager, Amy Graham. “This is a perfect opportunity to talk about the credit union difference and engage youth and adults through a social media contest during National Credit Union Youth Month.”

Credit Union West is known for supporting financial initiatives through its many financial education classes geared toward the younger generation. The credit union partners with several education providers to teach youth on topics such as; understanding credit score, budgeting and car buying basics. These age appropriate classes are taught by the credit union’s financial education experts in classrooms in both Maricopa and Yavapai counties. The social media contest will be held April 13 – 24 on the credit union’s Facebook page and in their branches. For more information visit www.cuwest.org.
