Credit union collects toys for underprivileged children

(January 13, 2014) — Arsenal Credit Union brightened the holidays for hundreds of area children by collecting toys in its branches in December. About 400 toys were donated during the two-week toy drive. All toys were handed out at local food pantries to needy families in the areas surrounding the credit union’s branches. In addition to donations of toys, Arsenal employees raised money for the toy drive with a series of dress-down days.

Arsenal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial alternative to a bank. It was founded in 1948 to promote thrift, provide members with an opportunity to use and control their money for their mutual benefit, and to assist in the financial education of members and people living in the community. The credit union has six branches in the St. Louis area, $186 million in assets and almost 24,000 members/owners. For more information about Arsenal, call 314.962.6363, opt. 6, or visit
