Credit union in Pensacola, FL participates in Wreaths Across America honoring our fallen veterans
The financial institution strives to further support their community in times of uncertainty
PENSACOLA, FL (January 13, 2021) — On December 19, 2020 Central Credit Union of Florida participated in the national Wreaths Across America campaign as volunteers contributing their day to placing the wreaths that they had sponsored on headstones at Barrancas National Cemetery located at the Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Central Credit Union of Florida partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Foundation to accomplish this project. The Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Foundation is promoting the Wreaths Across America mission and hopes to teach the young people in the community to remember and honor the sacrifices veterans have made for the country.
Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Foundation and Wreaths Across America is offering a special “Buy One, Get One” deal to help get a wreath for each and every memorial in the cemetery of which there are over 47,000 in Barrancas National Cemetery. The BOGO deal will be valid until January 14th, 2021 and new orders will be applied to the 2021 holiday season. For the 2021 season, Central Credit Union of Florida and its employees placed an order for $1,600 which will equate to over 100 wreaths.
Central Credit Union of Florida works with many charitable organizations throughout the year but efforts during the holiday season are amplified to provide aid to as many worthy causes as possible. While there are many organizations aimed at helping Veterans, our fallen heroes are sometimes overlooked. Central does not want this to be the case as Barbara MacNeil, Community Liaison for Central Credit Union of Florida, stated, “We are privileged to participate in this annual event and support the commitment to remember and honor the fallen and those who served our country.”
The wreaths for the 2020 season will stay in place until Saturday, January 16th, 2021. The Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Foundation is looking for volunteers to join them for wreath pick-up on Saturday the 16th.
